Nashik: A sensational case involving alleged forced religious conversion and exploitation at a corporate workplace has taken a serious turn, with investigators uncovering disturbing details about the methods allegedly used by the accused.

According to findings by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the prime accused, Nida Khan, is alleged to have systematically “groomed” a female colleague working at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik. Investigators claim that the accused encouraged the victim to gradually adopt religious practices, including observing Roza, wearing burqa and hijab, and offering namaz, reportedly with the help of religious mobile applications installed on her phone.

The SIT has indicated that the process was not sudden but carefully staged over time. Authorities allege that the victim was being prepared for a complete religious transition, including a proposed name change to “Haniya.” The investigation has also pointed to a possible international link, with references to connections in Malaysia, raising concerns about a wider network.

The case has further intensified following serious allegations made by the complainant. The victim has accused a co-worker, Danish Shaikh, of sexually exploiting her under the pretext of marriage. She has also alleged that another individual, Tausif Attar, sexually harassed her during the course of events.

In her statement, the complainant claimed her religious sentiments were deliberately hurt and that she was subjected to sustained emotional and psychological pressure.

Police have registered multiple charges, including those related to harassment, exploitation, and alleged attempts at forced conversion. Officials confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, with further questioning and digital evidence analysis underway.

Authorities are examining communication records, app usage, and possible links beyond India to determine whether the case involves a larger organised effort.

The case has sparked debate over workplace safety, misuse of personal relationships, and the need for stronger safeguards against coercion and harassment. While investigators continue to gather evidence, officials have urged the public to avoid speculation and allow the legal process to take its course.
