Nellore: In a major crackdown on illegal financial and betting activities, police in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district have busted an alleged investment and online cricket betting racket, seizing assets worth nearly ₹2 crore and arresting two accused.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Ajitha Vejendla, Superintendent of Police (SP), Nellore district.

According to officials, a special team led by Deeksha, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Nellore Town, along with Circle Inspector Sambasiva Rao, conducted coordinated raids at multiple premises.

During the operation, authorities uncovered what they described as a sophisticated online betting network allegedly operated through the Radhee Exchange App (R777) and a linked website. Investigators said the platform was being used to facilitate illegal cricket betting and attract individuals with promises of high investment returns.

Police seized cash, electronic devices, financial records, and other assets collectively valued at nearly ₹2 crore.

Preliminary investigation suggests the accused allegedly lured participants with assurances of quick profits through investment schemes while simultaneously running online cricket betting operations. Officials stated that digital payment channels and online applications were used to manage transactions and betting accounts.

Authorities are currently analysing seized electronic data to trace financial transactions and identify other potential links in the network.

Police said efforts are underway to identify additional suspects and determine the full scale of the operation. The arrested individuals are expected to be produced before a local court as per legal procedure.

Officials reiterated their warning against participating in unauthorised investment schemes and illegal betting platforms, urging citizens to verify financial ventures before committing funds.

Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
