Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Patrick Herminie on Tuesday jointly launched the India–Seychelles Joint Vision, marking a significant step towards deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
President Herminie is on an official visit to India, during which he held delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Modi. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across key areas including development partnership, maritime security, trade, infrastructure, and people-to-people ties.
Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged during the visit to enhance collaboration in priority sectors. As part of India’s continued commitment to Seychelles’ development, a financial assistance package of USD 175 million was announced.
Both leaders reaffirmed their shared vision of a free, open, and secure Indian Ocean region and underlined the importance of closer engagement in regional and multilateral forums.
The visit is expected to further consolidate the long-standing partnership between India and Seychelles and provide renewed momentum to bilateral relations.
