New Delhi/Dhaka(FNO): Amid escalating protests in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has assured his Indian counterpart that all Indian assets in the country remain secure, sources said.

The assurance was conveyed directly to Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi during high-level communication between the military leaderships of the two neighbouring nations. The exchange highlights continued coordination aimed at maintaining stability during the ongoing unrest.

Officials familiar with the discussions said the two sides are in close touch and are closely monitoring the situation on the ground to ensure that the protests do not impact bilateral interests or regional security.

The communication underscores the strength of established military-to-military channels between India and Bangladesh, which are being actively used to prevent any spillover effects amid the volatile situation in Dhaka.

Sources added that both countries remain committed to safeguarding diplomatic, economic, and strategic assets, while taking necessary steps to avoid escalation during the period of unrest.
